Today I’ m going to discuss about afghan speciality dish called Aashak .

Aashak is very tasty food ,it takes quite sometimes to prepare .

Aashak are boiled dumpling filled with leek ,  yogurt and sauce in the top.


1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 can of tomato sauce

4 tbsp olive oil ( 2 tbsp for leek and 2 tbsp for sauce )

2 teaspoons salt ( 1 teaspoon salt for leek and 1 teaspoon  for sauce)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2  teaspoon red pepper

1  1/2 tsp ground coriander

1  1/2 tsp masala

1 lb green onion washed  and chopped

1 can gurbanzo

4 gloves garlic minced ( 2 gloves for sauce and 2 others for yogurt )

1 cup greek plain yogurt

1 package won ton wrappers

1 tbsp. dried mint

Preparation :

Fry the chopped onion untilll tender add garlic, tomato sauce,salt, pepper , coriander , masala and 1 can gurbanzo. Cook , and stir regulary for 20 minute

While  the sauce is cooking put olive oil in pan add green onion ,salt , red pepper in medium heat for 10 mnt.

Make shape as dumplings :

Bring  the pot to boil :

once you  done  put the dumplings in a plate ,add sauce and yogurt.
