Shakshouka is Moroccan recipe made of eggs , onion and tomato. Shakshouka can be eaten for breakfast,lunch or dinner.

You can serve shakshouka with warm bread .

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil

½ medium chopped onion

2 large diced tomatoes

Pinch of sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp chili powder

5-6 eggs

½ tbsp. fresh chopped parsley

 Direction:

Heat oil in large pan , add chopped onion, and then fry until become soft tender for few minutes. Add salt, pepper , chilli pepper and garlic continue cooking , stirring frequently the mixture for about 2 minutes.

Add tomatoes to the rest of the ingredients, stir well , reduce the heat and simmer about 15 minutes.

Taste the sauce and adjust the spices to your tastes.

Crack the eggs, one by one  making space  over the sauce , cover the pan , let it cooked about 10 minutes until the sauce has slightly reduce …

Garnich with the chopped parsley…

  1. I love shakshuka! I haven’t made it in a while, i think it’s time to have it for dinner. I like adding other vegetables as well, like zucchini, mushrooms and peppers.
